IS GOD IN CONTROL?

Greetings my dear brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to our study to separate the fictions from the Truth.  The fictions are the traditions of men and the doctrines of devils.  Of course, it is a given that none of that is present in our Church, our denomination, or in our own thinking (thinly veiled sarcasm).  Today I am going to take a few minutes to deal with a very perverse lie of the enemy which is that God is in control.  The implication being that God is in control of everything, the good, the bad, and the ugly.  The most baby of Christians, even a heathen, knows that is not true.  When was the last time God made any of us do anything?  If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to encourage us and spread the reach of this ministry.  I teach and write about this topic, the lie that God is in control of everything, often for it is so destructive in the body of Christ.  This error in thought and understanding automatically transfers all responsibility for all things to God and gives the illusion that we have no part.  This goes a long way in explaining the utter defeat and rampant curse in the body of Christ.  This theology relegates us to the role of passive bystanders and ignores the Bible.  Man was made as a freewill creature which is clear right from chapter one of Genesis and is abundantly clear on the Day of Sin and Death (Genesis 3:6).  What about all the “ifs”, the “because”, and the “when’s” in the Bible.  God has laid an abundant table before mankind from the beginning and man, not God, chooses to partake or go his own way (really the way of Satan).  If God is in control of everything than what about the Bible referring to the Devil as the “god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4)?

One might ask, what is God in control of?  Perhaps some would say: well everything.  Really, is that true?  Just what has He made you do today?  The only way to come to the conclusion that God is in control of everything is to believe that He is in the good and the bad.  Is there any evil in God or perhaps the devil works for God?  The Lord Jesus sees to it that our choices, the words of our mouths, are performed according to spiritual law.  God is in control of all spiritual and physical law ensuring that they are sustained and work justly for all peoples.

Hebrews 1:3 (KJV)
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Just as God framed the worlds by the Word of His mouth so we frame our world by the words of our mouth.  We are in His image and likeness therefore we look like and act like Him.

Hebrews 11:3 (KJV)
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

God gave dominion (authority) over all the earth to Adam which was surrendered to Satan through deception.  The god of this world (the devil and his cohorts) works the same way in the heathen and in God’s children if we allow.  God rules, controls, or more accurately presents choices to people by light (anointed Word), by the Truth, and we and others choose.  Jesus restored the dominion (capacity to trigger supernatural power) of Genesis chapter one to the body of Christ by the work of Calvary.  The body of Christ can cause the earth to become as the Garden of Eden or allow it to become a cesspool.

Jesus said His Words are spirit and life and so are ours when we believe Him and say what He says.  We can speak the blessing or the curse into our own lives and those around us.  Be careful what you hear.  Things (words) we give place too get into our soul, change our thinking, our words, and then our world (circumstances).  When we are following the Word of God, we are on the abundant life path.  If we are not following the Word of God then we are on the path of the curse where there is stealing, killing and destroying (John 10:10).

John 6:63 (KJV)
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

We commonly hear that God knows the end from the beginning and it is implied that He knows everything in between including the details of our lives.  Not only does He know them but controls them and predetermined them.  Nothing could be further from the Truth.  Scripture does not say that.  Anything that precludes freewill is not of God, period.  God has declared His overall plan which will occur but the details of our lives are entirely up to us.  For example, it was declared from the Day of Sin and Death that a Messiah would come and Jesus did come and take away sin.  He will return a second time.  There will be rapture, there will be a tribulation, there will be a millennial age, a new heaven and a new earth, and ages to come.  But the details of each of our lives are up to us and even the details (not the occurrence) of these predetermined events mentioned above depends upon the choices of individuals.  For example, Moses by killing the Egyptian delayed the release of the Israelites from Egypt, the rebellion of the Israelites delayed entrance into the Promised Land.  We make the choices; we repeatedly chose either life or death.  Read the following Scripture carefully.

Isaiah 46:10 (KJV)
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

God will accomplish all of His will; the question is will we chose to follow God or does God have to do it with someone else?  There was a time when God was frustrated with the children of Israel and told Moses he would destroy them (allow them to be destroyed) and build a nation from Moses.  What if Moses had not interceded for Israel?  If God was in control, they would have gone over the Jordan the first time.  If God was in control you would have been saved at the first opportunity.  And the lists could go on and on.  He gives us choices; we are free willed and have been since the Garden of Eden.  Read Deuteronomy 30:15-20 and look at just one example of choices being given and the people chose.  Even the angels are free will agents.  When Lucifer rebelled one third made the very bad choice of going with him.  Can you imagine, but then let us examine our own lives.  The Kingdom of God is furnished with way more money than we have ever wanted, perfect health, and whole families, so why don’t we see this commonly in the body of Christ?  We have allowed ourselves to be deceived into making choices for death, choices for the curse which corrupts our faith and the harvest.  We believed and acted upon another gospel.  It is not the will of God for anyone to perish, to be financially poor, sick, or have lack in any area.

2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

It is not the will of God that anyone perish!  So, why are people perishing by the billions?  God is not making that choice, He is not exercising control, each individual persons is making choices.  Due to the deceptions of the enemy people perish.  At a point each one chooses the light or the darkness.  Consider the following verse.

1 Peter 5:5 (KJV)

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Whose responsibility is it to be clothed with humility?  Did God just automatically or did we each one make a choice?  If we are proud God resists us.  Does God, in control, make us proud so He can resist us?  Does He automatically through His control cause some to be humble to give them grace?  Dear saints, this is really simple, we choose, let’s choose right, choose God, His thoughts, His Words, and ways.  God wants this earth to look like Heaven and it is our responsibility to make it that way (as least in our lives and sphere of influence).

Matthew 6:10 (KJV)

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Is God making the earth a mess (His will) than asking us to pray it not be that way?  Give me a break!

Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
